Accessible Art Across Borders aims to establish inclusive, community-led artistic spaces where disabled and local artists can create and perform. We blend local traditions with Western techniques to co-create performances that highlight disabled artistry and promote institutional change. Building on our work in Southeast Asia and Africa, we are deepening international partnerships and bringing valuable knowledge and creative strategies back to Europe. Our approach builds both short-term exchanges and long-term capacity, fostering sustainable artistic practices. Through accessible design, inclusive training, and public performances, we aim to promote equity in the arts—creating opportunities for recognition, access, and leadership among disadvantaged local and disabled communities worldwide.
Meet the Team
Our project is led by a dedicated couple whose expertise combines artistic practice, community engagement, and inclusive innovation. Their complementary skills in choreography, music, social care techniques, and extensive experience facilitating artistic work with disabled communities drive the vision and impact of Accessible Art Across Borders.
Teresa Manjua is the creator of Accessible Art Across Borders and serves as the project’s co-artistic director. With over a decade of experience as a professional dancer and choreographer, she has spent the past six years developing inclusive movement practices in close collaboration with disabled communities. Her work focuses on using dance as a tool for access, expression, and cultural connection—drawing from both traditional and contemporary techniques. Teresa leads the choreographic and workshop components of the project, ensuring that each artistic process reflects the lived experiences and creative voices of the communities involved.

Joshua is the co-creator and co-artistic director of Accessible Art Across Borders, where he leads the musical and production aspects of the project. With a background in psychology (BSc) and cognitive neuroscience (MSc), he combines academic insight with hands-on experience working directly with disabled individuals and local communities in diverse cultural contexts. His work includes inclusive music direction, sound and lighting design, and overall project coordination. Together with Teresa, he is committed to building sustainable, inclusive infrastructures for artistic expression across cultures.
